Whether you’re here for a morning pick-me-up, a mid-afternoon indulgence, or a leisurely dessert, the ambiance invites you to settle in and savor each bite and sip.
The menu is a treasure trove of Greek and Mediterranean delights, seamlessly blending beloved staples with exquisite sweets. Don’t miss their bougatsa, a flaky, buttery pastry filled with sweet custard – repeatedly praised by customers as the best they’ve had in years, a testament to Lefkos Pyrgos's dedication to authentic pastry craft. On the dessert front, Lefkos Pyrgos dazzles with a mouthwatering selection: from the rich and creamy tiramisu to the subtly sweet and aromatic galactoboureco (a traditional Greek custard dessert wrapped in phyllo), all the way to inventive treats like the tangy pomegranate tart and the indulgently smooth chocolate cheesecake. Each item is crafted with precision, evoking a blend of tradition and passion that elevates the overall dining experience.
Past customers’ reviews truly bring Lefkos Pyrgos to life. George H, initially skeptical based on reviews, was “blown away” by the exceptional service and quality, declaring the bougatsa the best in the USA and praising the freddo espresso as his top coffee discovery during a New York week. Similarly, Philip Kautz praises the consistently excellent pastries and friendly staff, calling the frappe “the best one around” in this renowned Greek neighborhood. Such honest, heartfelt testimonials speak volumes about the cafe’s ability to exceed expectations and cultivate lasting loyalty.
In sum, Lefkos Pyrgos Cafe is more than just a place to grab a coffee or pastry – it’s a sensory journey to Greece, right in Astoria. Whether you want to indulge in flaky, buttery pastries that melt in your mouth, sip on expertly brewed coffees that excite your palate, or enjoy the warm and welcoming customer service, this spot promises an unrivaled experience that lingers long after the last bite.
Okay I didn’t originally go here because the reviews weren’t the best. When my uncle suggested we go I went. I was blown away by what they had. The service was exceptional and I could not believe how great everything was. The freddo espresso was the best one I had during my entire week in New York. The bougatsa was the best I’ve had in over 20 years and the best ever in the USA. Loved the tyropita but the one from Laiko down the road was better. I do prefer this place though. Even ended my stay with a Greek orange soda (the best)!!! Please try this place for authentic Greek sweets and amazing coffee!!!
Have been here many times especially since a nearby Greek restaurant stopped serving coffee. But this place is great all the time! The pastries are excellent and the staff is friendly and helpful. My favorite coffee is the frappe on a warm day. It's the best one around and that means a lot in one of our greatest Greek neighborhoods.
